Alexander Technique | Site I’m most grateful to Bruce Fertman, with whom I studied Alexander (+ Aikido, Tai Chi) at Rutgers (BFA/80-83). An impeccable teacher, & also an amazingly grounding presence, he taught me how to feel greater ease, & awareness in the body. Integrating his teachings helped me process being empathic & intuitive. After I graduated, he left Rutgers to start the Alexander Alliance & Peaceful Body School. Anyone who studies with him is truly blessed. I love his book, Where This Path Begins, Renderings of the Tao

EMDR  | Site (EMDR Institute) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing –                      A proven protocol for using eye movements or other modes of bi-lateral, body-based/cell memory or Meridian activation to create harmony, healing, & resolve deep trauma & limiting cognitive templates. Many forms of energy psychology exist (check out Carol Look, Mary Sise, Fred Gallo)  – another helpful site is: EFT | Site (Emotional Freedom Techniques®) Gary Craig’s free tutorial, articles – a great resource for working with Meridians to create emotional freedom.

Energy Medicine; Referral Suggestions for Energy Practitioners by Ellen Farrell, MA, NCC, LPC (2008) EM Institute/EM Handout Bank | Worldwide Energy Medicine Directory | See my Case Histories under AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS, & CANCER and TUMORS: Energy Medicine for Fibromyalgia” ; EM Provides Physical and Emotional Healing for a Cancer Patient
Donna Eden, EEM (Eden Energy Medicine) pioneer/author, is dear to me – she’s a beautiful force of Love & Joy! I bought her book, Energy Medicine when it came out (late 90’s), & am grateful to have graduated from the 4-year Innersource program as an EEM-Advanced Practitioner. Donna & her husband/co-author, & Energy Psychology specialist, David Feinstein, PhD, also wrote The Promise of Energy Psychology with Gary Craig; Energy Medicine for Women; &, The Energies of Love (2015). I loved being a 5-day workshop TA (Hilton Head, SC) – & also a TA + completing the Instructor training in EM for Women in Los Angeles, CA, 2009. I deeply support their mission “Raising the Vibration of the Planet, One Person at a Time.”

Flower Essences – FES FAQ – About the FES Bach essences by Julian Barnard
Since I started using Bach essences back in 1987, I’ve found them to be profound in their positive effects on core issues – in both myself, family, & clients. I’m so happy Julian Barnard brought back the “essence” of the original Bach Centre work.

Homeopathy (Dr. Luc DeSchepper) | Site
Dr. Luc is one of those rare individuals – a medical doctor, acupuncturist, master-homeopath, teacher, & author. A specialist on immune system, and Autism issues, I was lucky to have found him (after 8 years with chronic fatigue/systemic Candida, following advice from every source I could find with minimal or no change). His holistic approach addressed the original distress, & necessary dietary changes, in addition to homeopathy/acupuncture. His careful, compassionate approach led me to develop great respect for him, & to heal. Later (when I was the Nutrition Assistant Team Leader at Whole Foods Market in Chicago), I encouraged the Store Team Leader to help bring him in as a guest speaker. His work is a gift to the world. Thank-you Dr. Luc.

Past Life Therapy (Brian Weiss, M.D.) | Site
I love it when those from the traditional medical community have metaphysical, mystical experiences, & document it! As with Dr.’s Kubler-Ross, Candace Pert, Judith Orloff, Norm Shealy, Joyce Hawkes, Pim van Lommel – Dr. Weiss’ writings offer validation to the skeptical (other faves are: Edgar Cayce & Jane Roberts to Sanaya Roman/Duane Packer, Caroline Myss, Gary Zukav, Linda Kohanov, Mary Summer Rain). In ’89, I discovered the work of Dr. Weiss having just moved to LA, California. Hired as night manager of the health food store, Follow Your Heart, on breaks I’d read Messages From the Masters, his groundbreaking book… “he was astonished and skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas that seemed to hold the key to her therapy issues…” Read his books to explore your own journey of remembering, healing, & discovery. I’m deeply grateful to have trained with Brian & Carole Weiss at the Omega Institute, August 2008. Regression is a wonderful Jungian tool that allows us to gain insight, bring healing, & helps us remember how love teaches us, ties us together & empowers us.

REIKI History | Historical Perspective
Having practiced Reiki since 1987, I can say it has been a powerful tool for healing & balancing. I continue to see positive growth & healing with my clients using Reiki as a foundation. Reiki has a diverse background – these links provide enough information to reveal a bit of the history, & a general explanation. Reiki is life-force, prana, chi/Qi – we all have access to, & can cultivate our connection with this vital healing energy. See also: IARP.ORG about Reiki and Medicine applications; & visit Reiki Alternative Treatments | Site @  Mesothelioma.com – to learn more about how patients use Reiki as a form of palliative relief during Cancer treatment.

Daily OM  | Site
You can sign up for the newsletter or just peruse archives. An excellent source for inspiration & insight on a variety of topics (products, artists, modalities)… it’s a Spiritual, holistic focus/non-denominational.  I’ve often found it sends exactly what I need, just when I needed it!

David Newman Music  | Site
David Newman came to Savannah to do Kirtan in the early 2000’s – my husband and I had a wonderful time singing and meeting David and Mira! David is a talent and a joy. His music is from the heart – a synthesis of traditional Kirtan with beautiful melodies and contemporary lyrics. David even graciously let us use his music for a beautiful short film my husband shot of our 2006 Savannah Yoga for Peace event.

Hemi-Sync (The Monroe Institute)  | Site
The Monroe Institute developed a new field of scientific research, which creates balance between the hemispheres of the brain, synchronizing them. This promotes “focused whole-brain states of consciousness”, which “improves human performance”. It is mind-expanding,“both a powerful relaxation and healing tool” – Metamusic uses Hemi-Sync® technology to focus on needs, from grounding, inner journeying, increasing optimal focus, to dealing with the passage of death, & traveling beyond. I’ve used their CD’s in my meditation groups and with clients. If the work of Edgar Cayce, Brian Weiss, or Carlos Casteneda interests you, you’ll enjoy Robert Monroe‘s three books. They tell of his fascinating Journeys, starting with his sound experiments that triggered traveling Out Of Body, beyond the physical realm. Another way to experience Monroe’s research is to attend a workshop at The Monroe Institute, in VA. My husband & I loved the Gateway Voyage program (summer ’07 …yes, I even traveled OOB!). Click on Store/Catalog/Metamusic to hear CD samples!

Find links to Earthsave, Vegsource & much more, & learn about how your food choices affect your health (& about toxic factory farm operations). Be part of helping to create a thriving, just and sustainable planet. See my book review on John Robbins’ Diet for A New America in the Articles section (first written back in ’90, later printed in 1994, in the Chicago Whole Foods Market newsletter). Read more about it – & learn why this information is so important!

Wishing you, your family (& pets) the best of health & good Energy! Eat pure, whole foods – drink pure water! Check out a Berkey water purifier, or at least a Zero water pitcher. Look for one that takes out heavy metals / endocrine disruptors which block iodine absorption, like flouride, chlorine, glyphosates, bromine (& avoid bleached-brominated breads!!!). Avoid pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, & learn about the Non-GMO ProjectGMOs – these ‘Roundup ready’ crops are heavily sprayed!!! Roundup contains many poisons including glyphosates, & now even components of Agent Orange: it kills everything but the GMO crops, & creates super-weeds… despite lies saying otherwise, it produces lower yields – basically, it makes everything toxic. Glyphosates (in RoundUp) also kill the good bacteria & feed the BAD bacteria in your gut & contribute to leaky gut & autoimmune problems! So… eat only: Organic & Non-GMO verified corn (GMO corn also has the BtToxin), soy, beets (most sugar, unless listed as ORGANIC, is from GMO beets, or if non-organic cane sugar, likely is sprayed with glyphosates at harvest), alfalfa, apples, peaches, strawberries, cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, etc. Things like lentils may also be sprayed with RoundUP – so go ORGANIC with beans & seeds! Also AVOID: soy, corn, cottonseed, canola, sunflower, in flours or oils (or lecithin) it = toxic garbage, doused in toxins for YOU if not organic!
Are you aware of mercury, aluminum, & viruses present in vaccines? Watch videos such as BOUGHT (watch the trailer) or The Age of Aluminum – or others from Gary Null, Michael Pollan, Ty Bollinger (The Truth About Cancer/Vaccines), films about GMO’s & sustainable farming such as King Korn (interview), or Symphony of the Soil (watch the trailer); Seeds of Death – or Open Sesame – The Story of Seeds, available on Foodmatters/FMTV – plus follow-up interview with Jeffrey Smith – see IRT for the latest GMO/Roundup info.
Avoid non-organic Cotton. Read about the work of Vandana Shiva. Shop at PACT Organic, or the Rainforest Site for organic/eco-friendly cotton clothes & other fair trade, sustainable materials! Use EVOO, or if you eat it, organic butter (from free-range/pasture-raised, only grass fed cows). Use organic, virgin, cold pressed Coconut oil (check out vitacost or swanson.com brands–for great quality, taste &, price, also for their Himalayan salt – I keep a travel size in my bag for restaurant outings. Yes, avoid all processed (white) salt & sweeteners too!
Use only raw local honey, maple syrup, or minimal organic stevia – or see other safe sweeteners/read articles from Dr. Mercola. HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) is from Corn (= heavily sprayed, GMO/ genetically modified organisms, a.k.a., GE/ genetically engineered) – avoid it! GMO’s can lead to severe mineral, amino acid, neurotransmitter & hormone imbalances; plus autoimmune, digestion, mood & energy problems. Seek ancient & heirloom forms of vegetables, fruits,  seeds, & grains (especially traditional US wheat); eat only organic wheat as it is typically drenched in Roundup/glyphosates, etc. See the Food & Water Watch for info on all fronts! Here’s more, so you can navigate how to stay healthy in this world…

    • Consumers for Dental Choice – working to phase out mercury containing “silver amalgam” use; promoting access to mercury-free (safe) alternatives.
    • Drugwatch.com – this site reports on the latest information regarding dangerous drugs & defective medical devices.
    • Fluoride Action Network (FAN) – A coalition aimed at ending water fluoridation, alerting you to environmental health risks & relevant government actions to keep you informed.
    • National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) – seeking to prevent vaccine injuries & deaths through public education, defending your right of informed choice.
    • Organic Consumers Association (OCA) – campaigning for health, justice, sustainability …addressing food safety, GMOs, the industrial-ag complex, children’s health, etc.

Get a current Dirty dozen, Clean 15 list now!… but be Aware... they’re not using data that tested for RoundUp toxins like glyphosates, neonics, or BtToxins, Dicamba, Agent Orange on the non-GMO plants! I’ll look for updates & will consider this link more relevant when/if they do… ’til then, eat organic or local non-GMO/non-RoundUp ONLY! The list says it’s clean YET, EWG states, “A small percentage of zucchini, yellow squash and sweet corn in the produce cooler is GE. Most Hawaiian papaya is GE.”

Read magazines such as Mother Earth News for info on gardening & living in harmony with Nature …we need to Grow Food Not Lawns, & get back to sustainable farming practices, embracing a a return to small, organic, local farming.

Support Our Earth, Create a Healthy World | Sites: | Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) | Greenpeace | The Nature Conservancy | Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) | Sierra Club |  World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
How can we as individuals stay in balance if we don’t remember that we are part of the Earth, & it is part of us? To quote Chief Seattle, “all things are connected” …take a deep beautiful, cleansing breath, & for just a moment, imagine yourself & our world in harmony on all levels – know that it matters when we do something to support Nature. We can make healthy choices by being good stewards of the Earth.

There are so many good groups! Support keeping our Earth & communities healthy – here are some faves…

  • EDF – they are “dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of all people. Guided by science… creating practical solutions that win support because they are nonpartisan, cost-effective and fair.” Here’s another good one: Food Democracy Now
  • Greenpeace – uses “non-violent confrontation to raise the level and quality of public debate…” – they ensure their “financial independence from political or commercial interests”… & “seek solutions for, and promote open, informed debate about society’s environmental choices.”
  • The Nature Conservancy  – their mission: “is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.”
  • NRDC– “is the nation’s most effective environmental action group, combining the grassroots power of 1.2 million members and online activists with the courtroom clout and expertise of more than 350 lawyers, scientists and other professionals.”
  • Sierra Club – “Since 1892… has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself.” They’re “the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States.”
  • WWF – for over 45 years, their mission has been & is “the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge… work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems…” They’re “committed to reversing the degradation of our planet’s natural environment and to building a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature…”
